I DEMAND RESPECT!

(No one addresses me as master huhuhu!)

I've met people who gets quite annoyed whenever others don't address them as guro, lakan, datu, master, grandmaster, engineer, doctor, father, bishop, your honor, his excellency, professor, pastor, madame, sir etc....etc.....ASK THESE 3 THINGS TO YOURSELF FIRST:

1. AM I RESPECTABLE?

2. AM I REALLY RESPECTABLE?

3. AM I REALLY, REALLY RESPECTABLE ?

After answering these questions next is to CONTEMPLATE on the following:

-People who DEMAND to be adressed with such titles attached to their names are called CHILDREN!

-DON'T DEMAND . You have to EARN it. Because if you earn it then there is no need for you to demand it.

-If you've EARNED IT, then it would be GIVEN to you wholeheartedly.

Note: We normally attched KA whenever we address each other (ka Noy, ka Mel etc). KA in Tagalog is a Noun Affix to a person or a thing with whom the place, object, quality or situation expressed by the root is shared.

Examples:

Usap (talk) - kausap (talking)

Klase (class) - Kaklase (classmate)

Patid (disconnect)

KAPATID

PATID literally means "disconnect" now in deep Filipino concept the word KAPATID (siblings) actually refers to the same umbilical chord where these siblings came from. We all know that everytime a baby is born there is a need to cut that umbilical chord that connects the mother and her child. And it is from that same chord wherein siblings of brothers and sisters comes from. So KAPATID would literally refer to a relationship where both comes from a single source (that same chord where they were disconnected from) likewise we affix this to our fellow Pinoys wherein we all come from. That shared root, culture, traditions from our motherland which we all originated from. The Philippines. This is the chord that binds us as Filipinos. Same concept is applied to other nations as well.

MAESTRO

In Filipino context refers to teacher. Maestra is used to refer to women who are teachers(very common term used especially in our public schools). Maestro in our context is not the same as Master which literally refer to Panginoon or Lord (which we use whenever addressing a higher being)

In our brotherhood in AK Kalistas Ilustrados it doesn't bother any of us whether one affix these on our names or not. We dont really care if we are simply called by our names. The affix terms are only used for formalities in some gatherings. So its a non-issue. Only children would cry over such petty things.
